Standard catalog nuts cover the most common thread forms in the most common materials. Custom machined nuts are required when your application falls outside those parameters: a non-standard thread pitch or form, a special material such as titanium or 17-4 PH stainless, a close-tolerance bearing or locating surface on the nut OD, a proprietary external geometry, or a standard thread combined with an unusual hex or drive profile.
Our precision machined nuts are produced on CNC lathes and Swiss CNC machines with live tooling. The internal thread, external hex or profile, face features, and any locking geometry are all machined in one setup, which maintains an accurate relationship between the thread axis and the external features.
We produce all standard nut forms and fully custom nuts to drawing:
Acorn cap nuts, also known as dome nuts, cover the exposed end of a bolt or stud. They protect the threads, shield people from sharp thread ends, and give the assembly a finished look. Because the dome, hex, and internal thread are machined in one setup, the crown stays concentric with the thread. Hex nuts and jam nuts: standard and non-standard thread forms in any material
Custom machined nuts from Resolute Precision serve industries where catalog hardware is insufficient:

Yes. Our CNC lathes produce any thread pitch programmable in the control: fine, extra-fine, non-standard (UNS), metric fine, and custom pitches. We are not limited to available taps, because the thread is generated directly by the machine’s thread interpolation
A prevailing torque nut has a built-in locking feature that creates friction against the mating thread, so it resists loosening from vibration. We machine all-metal locking features to your drawing, which suits high-temperature applications where nylon-insert nuts can’t be used. Send the torque and temperature requirements with your drawing and we’ll flag any concerns when we quote.
Yes. Slots are machined with live tooling in the same setup as the thread and hex, so slot width, depth, and count are held to your drawing and stay aligned with the thread axis. The cotter pin passes through the bolt hole and the slots to lock the nut in position.
Custom speed nuts are stamped sheet-metal clip nuts, which is a different process from machining. If you need a stamped clip nut, we aren’t the right source. If a stamped nut doesn’t meet your thread strength, material, or tolerance needs, we can make a solid alternative to your drawing.
