Prototyping with a shop that also runs production has a specific and important advantage: the prototype is made on production equipment, with production-grade material, using the same cutting tools and process parameters as a full production run. This means your prototype accurately predicts the dimensional, surface finish, and material properties of the production part.
Prototypes made on specialty prototype equipment 3D-printed metal, EDM-cut from plate, or machined on manual mills can provide a functional approximation, but they do not accurately predict what a CNC turned or milled production part will look and behave like. If your product requires precision machined components, prototype them on precision CNC equipment.
We produce prototype machined parts on the same bar-fed lathes, Swiss CNC machines, and vertical machining centers as our production runs not on dedicated prototype machines with different characteristics. Our scheduling system reserves capacity for prototype work, enabling one to three week lead times for most prototype turned and milled components without a premium setup charge for low quantities.

When your prototype is approved and you are ready to move to production, the transition at Resolute Precision requires no new supplier qualification, no re-learning of your part, and no gap in knowledge. The same shop, the same engineers, and the same setups that produced your prototype scale directly to production volume:
Phase 1: 1–25 prototype parts for design validation
Phase 2: 50–500 bridge production parts for pilot builds and field testing
Phase 3: 1,000+ production parts for full manufacturing launch
All phases on the same equipment, same process, same quality system
Yes. We accept STEP and IGES 3D CAD files and work from them alongside a dimensioned 2D drawing. If you only have a 3D CAD file with no formal drawing, we can produce a quote from the model with a tolerance discussion.
Engineering changes are common in prototype development. We handle change requests as revised quote opportunities you provide the updated drawing, we requote and produce the revised parts. There is no penalty for changes; we understand that is the nature of development.
In most cases our standard one to three week lead time meets development schedule requirements. For urgent needs, contact us directly — we will assess our current queue and advise on the fastest achievable delivery.
Yes. Our prototype capability covers both CNC turning and CNC milling. A development program requiring both turned components and milled housings can be handled entirely within our facility.
