Request a QuoteWhat Aerospace Demands from a Machining Supplier
Aerospace and defense components operate under conditions where dimensional accuracy and consistency are critical. Flight-control components, actuator components, hydraulic fittings, structural hardware, and fasteners must meet drawing requirements precisely.
A capable aerospace machine shop needs to demonstrate three key capabilities:
- Technical capability to achieve the tolerances specified on engineering drawings
- A quality management system that supports process control and traceability
- Documentation capabilities for first article inspection, material certification, and process records
Resolute Precision supports these requirements through our ISO 9001:2015 quality system, precision aerospace CNC machining capabilities, and established inspection and documentation processes.
Our Swiss CNC machines and multi-axis turning centers support complex turned components, while our multi-axis vertical machining capabilities support precision milled parts and assemblies.

Our aerospace CNC machining services are structured around the documentation, repeatability, and communication that aerospace buyers expect.
Aerospace Materials We Machine
We produce aerospace components in common aerospace alloys:
- Aluminum 6061-T6, 7075-T6, 2024-T3: structural components, housings, brackets, and fittings
- Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V): high strength-to-weight ratio for flight-critical components
- Stainless 17-4 PH, 15-5 PH, 316L: corrosion-resistant structural and fluid system components
- Alloy steel 4130, 4340, 300M: high-strength hardened components for structural applications
- Inconel 718: high-temperature applications in engine and exhaust-adjacent components
- A286 stainless: high-temperature fasteners and structural hardware
Titanium and nickel alloys work-harden and generate heat at the cutting edge, so they call for rigid setups, sharp tooling, controlled speeds and feeds, and effective coolant delivery. Aluminum and stainless components often rely on tight process control to hold position, flatness, and thread requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is RPM AS9100 certified?
A: RPM holds ISO 9001:2015 certification. We are not currently AS9100 certified. For aerospace programs that specifically require AS9100 certification, we recommend discussing your quality system requirements with our team — we operate to many of the same practices and can support most quality plan requirements within our ISO 9001 framework.
Q: Can RPM provide first article inspection to AS9102 format?
A: Yes. We produce first article inspection reports in AS9102 format on request. Our CMM inspection capability supports the dimensional documentation requirements of a formal FAI package including measurement results for all drawing dimensions.
Q: Does RPM provide material traceability for aerospace parts?
A: Yes. Titanium Grade 5 and Inconel 718 are within our Swiss CNC and milling capability. These alloys machine at reduced cutting speeds with specific tooling and coolant strategies, and our machinists are experienced producing aerospace components in both for structural and engine-adjacent applications.
Q: Can RPM machine titanium and Inconel?
A: Yes. Titanium Grade 5 and Inconel 718 are within our machining capability on our CNC turning and milling equipment. These materials require specific tooling, cutting parameters, and coolant strategies — our machinists are experienced with both alloys.
