Standard catalog nuts cover the most common thread forms in the most common materials. Custom machined nuts are required when your application falls outside those parameters a non-standard thread pitch or form, a special material such as titanium or 17-4 PH stainless, a close-tolerance bearing or locating surface on the nut OD, a proprietary external geometry, or a combination of a standard thread with an unusual hex or drive profile.
Resolute Precision machines nuts on our CNC lathes and Swiss CNC machines with live tooling. The internal thread, external hex or profile, face features, and any locking geometry are all machined in one setup maintaining accurate relationship between thread axis and external features.
We produce all standard nut forms and fully custom nut profiles to drawing:
Hex nuts and jam nuts — standard and non-standard thread forms in any material
Castle and slotted nuts — with machined slots for cotter pin retention
Acorn and cap nuts — enclosed dome profile for end protection and aesthetics
Coupling nuts — extended body for rod end and stud connection applications
Prevailing torque nuts — all-metal locking feature machined into nut body
Flange nuts — with integral bearing flange machined in same setup as thread
Weld nuts — with machined pilot and weld projection for automated welding
Proprietary profile nuts — any external geometry specified on your drawing

Custom machined nuts from Resolute Precision serve applications across industries where catalog hardware is insufficient:
Aerospace and defense — titanium and 17-4 PH stainless nuts to proprietary drawings
Medical devices — 316L stainless nuts with non-standard thread forms for instrument assemblies
Automotive — specialty locking and prevailing torque nuts for powertrain and chassis applications
Fluid power — high-pressure coupling nuts with sealing thread forms and tight tolerances
Industrial machinery — large coupling and flange nuts in alloy steel for drive system applications
Marine hardware — silicon bronze and 316 stainless nuts for above and below-waterline use
Yes. Our CNC lathes produce any thread pitch programmable in the control fine, extra-fine, non-standard (UNS), metric fine, and custom pitches. We are not limited to available taps; the thread is generated by the machine interpolation directly.
A prevailing torque nut generates a locking force without a separate locking element by distorting the thread profile or adding a deformable element. All-metal prevailing torque nuts with a machined locking feature are within our capability. Contact us with your drawing for a feasibility assessment.
Yes. Castellated slots are machined with live tooling in the same setup as the thread and hex profile. Slot width, depth, and position relative to the hex flats are held to drawing tolerances.
We provide material certifications (mill certs), dimensional inspection reports, and ISO 9001 quality system documentation. For aerospace and defense applications, first article inspection documentation is available on request.
