There is no formal minimum we evaluate each program on its merits. In practice, blanket orders make economic sense when you order the same part four or more times per year. If you order a part monthly or more frequently, a blanket order almost always delivers better cost and service than individual orders.

Can RPM hold finished inventory for immediate release?

Yes. For high-volume parts with stable demand, we offer finished goods buffer stocking where we hold a defined quantity of finished parts at our facility for immediate release against your call-off. This reduces your effective lead time to days.

What happens to pricing when material costs change during a blanket order term?

Our standard blanket order terms include a material escalation provision tied to published commodity indices for steel, aluminum and brass. We notify you of any material-driven price adjustments 30 days in advance of release pricing changes.

How does RPM handle engineering changes on blanket order parts?

Engineering changes on active blanket order parts are managed as revision-level changes. We stop production of the superseded revision, re-quote the new revision, and begin production of the updated part. Any finished inventory of the superseded revision is dispositioned by agreement between our teams.
