Turning Capability Built for Complex Parts

Our CNC turning department handles the full range of precision turned component requirements — from simple cylindrical parts to complex multi-feature components that most shops quote in multiple operations. With live tooling on all of our lathes, we complete threading, grooving, cross-drilling, and milling features in the same setup as OD and ID turning.

This single-setup approach eliminates re-fixturing error, reduces handling time, and shortens lead time. For long slender components requiring exceptional concentricity and surface finish, our Swiss CNC machines support the workpiece at the cutting zone using a guide bushing — enabling production of parts that would deflect and ring on a conventional lathe.

Bar-Fed Production for Consistent High Volume

Our bar-fed setup accepts bar stock from 3/8 inch to 3.2 inches in diameter and up to 12 feet long. Automatic bar feeders maintain continuous production with minimal operator intervention, and loading is available on select cells for unattended overnight runs. For larger chucked workpieces, our turning centers handle diameters up to 25.5 inches and lengths up to 44 inches.

Applications for Precision Turned Parts

CNC turned parts from Resolute Precision serve applications across many industries. If your product uses a cylindrical or round component a shaft, bushing, fitting, valve body, fastener, spacer, pin, or sleeve we can produce it in your specified material and volume.

  • Fluid power: Valve spools, hydraulic fittings, cylinder components, metering pins
  • Medical devices: Implant components, instrument bodies, Swiss-turned surgical parts
  • Automotive: High-volume sub-assembly fasteners and sensor components
  • Aerospace: Tight-tolerance aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium turned components
  • Custom fasteners: Screws, bolts, inserts, threaded fittings, specialty hardware

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials does RPM turn?

We turn all standard industrial metals including steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, brass, aluminum, copper, bronze, titanium, and zinc plus engineering plastics including Delrin, PEEK, nylon, polycarbonate, HDPE, PTFE, ABS, and PVC.

Can RPM handle prototype and production quantities?
+

Yes. We produce prototype quantities from one piece and scale to production runs of hundreds of thousands of parts using the same equipment and setups.

What tolerances does RPM hold on CNC turned parts?
+

We routinely hold tolerances of ±0.001″ or better. Swiss CNC achieves ±0.0005″ or tighter on small-diameter parts. Achievable tolerance depends on geometry, material, and feature requirements.

Does RPM complete milling operations on turned parts?
+

Yes. All bar-fed lathes have live tooling cross-holes, flats, slots, and keyways are machined in the same setup as turning. No secondary milling operation is required.
