Why Source Custom Fasteners Direct?

Standard catalog fasteners are available from any distributor. Custom fasteners — non-standard thread forms, unusual drive features, special materials, close-tolerance shanks, or proprietary geometry — require a machine shop that understands both the machining process and the functional requirements of your application.

Resolute Precision specializes in exactly this work. Our Swiss CNC machines and bar-fed lathes are configured for efficient production of small-diameter turned fasteners from 3/8 inch to 3 inch diameter, in lot sizes from a few hundred prototype pieces to hundreds of thousands of production parts per year. And because we sell direct, the price you pay is the price from the machines that make your parts — not a distribution margin added on top.

The Breadth of Our Custom Fastener Capability

Our bar-fed setup accepts bar stock from 3/8 inch to 3.2 inches in diameter and up to 12 feet long. Automatic bar feeders maintain continuous production with minimal operator intervention, and robotic loading is available on select cells for unattended overnight runs. For larger chucked workpieces, our turning centers handle diameters up to 25.5 inches and lengths up to 44 inches.

Custom Fastener Applications

Resolute Precision custom fasteners serve applications across industries where standard catalog fasteners do not meet the design requirement:
• Aerospace and defense: non-standard thread forms, titanium and stainless alloy fasteners to drawing
• Medical devices: ultra-clean implant fasteners in 316L stainless or titanium Grade 5
• Automotive: specialty fasteners for under-hood, powertrain, and chassis assemblies
• Fluid power: threaded inserts, fitting bodies, and valve mounting hardware in brass and stainless
• Industrial machinery: custom shoulder bolts, precision dowel pins, and specialty studs
• Electronics: non-magnetic stainless fasteners, aluminum standoffs, and PCB spacers

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a fastener ‘custom’ versus standard catalog?

A custom fastener differs from catalog stock in one or more of these ways: non-standard thread form or pitch; unusual drive feature geometry; special material or heat treat; close-tolerance shank diameter; proprietary head geometry; or a combination of standard features in a non-catalog configuration.

Can RPM produce fasteners to industry standards like ASME or SAE?
+

Yes. We produce fasteners to ASME B18.2.1, B18.3, B18.6.3, SAE, and other industry standards where the drawing references them. We also produce fully custom fasteners to customer-proprietary drawings.

What is the smallest custom fastener RPM can produce?
+

Our Swiss CNC machines handle parts from approximately 1mm diameter. In practical terms, we regularly produce #0-80 and M1.0 threaded fasteners on our Swiss machines.

Can RPM reverse-engineer a fastener from a physical sample?
+

Yes. If you provide a physical sample, we can measure and document the geometry and produce a drawing for quoting. This is common for legacy fasteners where the original drawing is unavailable.
