Custom Fasteners & Screw Machine Parts for Hardware Manufacturers
Resolute Precision Manufacturing is a direct-from-manufacturer source for custom CNC turned fasteners — screws, bolts, nuts, inserts, standoffs, and screw machine parts — produced on Swiss CNC machines and bar-fed lathes in high-volume production. If your company makes hardware or uses precision fasteners in your product, we make them for you directly. No broker. No markup. The price comes from the shop that runs the parts.yoast_breadcrumb]
Swiss CNC — The Right Machine for Fastener Production
Most precision fasteners are small-diameter turned components — #4-40 through 1/2-13 in standard sizes, and metric M3 through M12 in the most common sizes. These dimensions fall squarely in the capability range of our Swiss CNC machines: 20mm, 32mm, and 38mm bar stock capacity with full live tooling for drive feature machining.
Swiss CNC machining produces fasteners complete in one cycle: shank turned to diameter, thread cut, head profile formed, drive feature milled — all in one uninterrupted program from bar stock. No secondary operations. No re-chucking. No accumulated error between the thread axis and the drive feature. The finished fastener drops off the machine ready for inspection and shipment.
Screw Machine Parts — High-Volume Bar-Fed Production
Screw machine parts are a family of bar-fed turned components with a history in the screw machine industry: small to medium diameter, relatively simple geometry, produced in very high volumes on automated equipment. Our bar-fed turning cells with Swiss CNC machines are the modern equivalent of the screw machine shop — producing precision turned components from 3/8 inch to 3.2 inch diameter in quantities from thousands to hundreds of thousands per year, with the dimensional consistency and per-part cost that high-volume production requires.

What Makes RPM the Right Fastener Source
Manufacturers sourcing custom fasteners through distributors or catalog houses face three consistent problems that direct manufacturing solves:
- Price — distributor markup of 20–40% on custom fasteners adds directly to your bill of materials cost
- Lead time — a distributor ordering from a machine shop adds a communication layer that extends lead time
- Technical response — when a fastener has a quality or design issue, talking to a distributor versus the machinist who made it is not the same conversation
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can RPM produce fasteners to industry standards like ASME B18?
A: Yes. We produce fasteners to ASME B18.2.1 (hex bolts), B18.3 (socket head cap screws), B18.6.3 (machine screws), and other applicable standards. We also produce fully custom fasteners to customer-proprietary drawings where standard dimensions do not apply.
Q: What is the smallest fastener diameter RPM can produce?
A: Our Swiss CNC machines handle bar stock from approximately 1mm diameter. In practical terms, we regularly produce #0-80 threaded fasteners and M1.0 metric screws. The smallest standard drive socket (#0 hex socket) is within our live tooling capability.
Q: Can RPM produce fasteners in exotic materials like Inconel or titanium?
A: Yes. Titanium Grade 5, 17-4 PH stainless, and Inconel 718 are within our Swiss CNC and turning capability. These materials machine at reduced cutting speeds and with specific tooling — our machinists are experienced with both alloys for fastener production.
Q: Does RPM offer passivation and coating on stainless fasteners?
A: Yes. Through our outside coating services, we coordinate passivation of stainless fasteners per ASTM F86 or AMS 2700, as well as black oxide, zinc plating, and electroless nickel for steel fasteners — delivering fully finished fasteners from a single purchase order.
